It was a beautiful morning, the kind where the sun shines brighter, the blue in the sky is bluer, the greens of the leaves of the trees are greener. Very crisp, cold...but not frigid...the skies completely and utterly blue without a speck of white cloud anywhere at all. In this weather, everything in life is appreciated that much more, even things that aren't there, even the memories of times like these - they jump out at you and become part of the living scenery of the moment, of the cool temperatures, of simply existing, playing the miniscule role in the totality of the world. But in this light, at this moment, in this weather alone, being insignificant is perfect. It's everything, and part of the role to just exist amid conditions so much better than the human condition. Except, of course, when the human love of your life is walking next to you in the midst of it - and in the mist of it, the young blonde's exhalations brought into the immediate foreground of his walking with clouds of mist that made Fredrick smile knowing that each breath was another indelible proof of Quatre's life. The beauty of the cold drew him into the past and the future in the same breath...these cold days being so much a part of his childhood and so rare now...a reminder of the streets he played on when he was a kid, spending so much time of his life there that not only time but his thoughts about life and his scattered, random dreams were also there, in a different place...although the days like these brought all of these memories back in full force. The two walked together to the bus stop every day, and Fredrick always looked forward toward these days in which he got to wear his white long-sleeved undershirt along with a t-shirt and his long pants. These kinds of mornings Fredrick didn't put on his headphones except around his neck so he could get the chill all over his face, his hands rubbed to keep warm before being placed into his back pockets of black jeans, face blushed gleefully at a combination of the cold temperatures and the sheer thought that now with the man walking beside him he had little need for an alarm clock. Quatre wasn't quite as used to such cold temperatures, but seeing how delighted Fredrick was with the weather warmed his heart a little. He dressed warmer, wearing a pair of gray slacks along with a light blue sweater and a white scarf around his neck. He could hear the excitement laced in Fredrick's voice when they got ready in their room when he told him exactly why he felt the way he did about the weather...it being away from him for so long and the fact that now he had Quatre by his side, it made those days even better. The weather made bad days into good days and made good days into amazing days. And so as Fredrick prepared to sit next to Quatre at the bench, he couldn't help but lean over and give Quatre a glancing nuzzle and a loving gaze. With a knowing look, holding back a joyful little laugh, Quatre sat back along with Fredrick. Quatre found himself just as mesmerized by the clouds coming from his love's breath, the two knowing without words its significance. Quatre then looked around and noticed no one was watching, turning toward Fredrick and then pulling him to stand before giving him a perfect kiss; stolen, loving, at the edge of frost but their souls so inherently blazing in life. Quatre ended the kiss, staying close, though, as he drew his hand lovingly along Fredrick's long white sleeve, going further down until fingers laced together for another brief but deeply, wonderfully intense show of affection. For the second, all of the cold weather and the bright sun and the sky became the world of their own design, and the world they wanted to escape to was the one they were in, brimming with the power and the imagination they both had, anything and everything did happen, and they lived their eternal lives an in instant. But with the screech of the brakes of the bus, the tick of the clock, the second was over, and Quatre drew his hand down, and all too suddenly this swelling of emotion and love was quelled, but just for now. Both men couldn't contain their smiles as Fredrick put on his headphones, and along with Quatre following right behind, walked on the bus.
