True Love Part 12 G - English - Romance - Reviews: 7 - Published: 03-06-01 - Updated: 03-06-01 id:223145 True Love Part Two "His Royal Highness Prince Malachite..." announced a man as Malachite walked under the flower decorated archway into the huge marble ballroom. Everyone turned to stare at the beautiful prince. He had long white hair softly tinted with green, silver-blue eyes set in a face handsome beyond words and gently bronzed skin. His garments further enhanced his attractiveness - a dark blue belted jacket with the flap left open, black boots under matching pants, and a long flowing white cape with deep blue stones set in brass fasteners. Malachite followed his parents up to greet Queen Serenity and Princess Serena. The queen of the Moon Kingdom was clothed all in white and her long shiny white hair fell almost to the floor. It was in a style of two ponytails with buns on top. Her daughter Serena wore her blonde hair the same way and also had a white dress on with golden trimming. "Your Highness," said Malachite as he bowed and kissed Princess Serena's hand, as was the custom. "He's very handsome," thought Serena. "But no way is he as handsome as my Prince Darien." Serena sighed as she looked over to where Prince Darien was standing talking with Prince Sapphire and Prince Diamond. Malachite joined his mother and father on one side of the ballroom and watched as other guests arrived. The announcer continued to call names as guests entered the royal ballroom. "His Royal Highness Prince Rubeus..." "Oh look it's Prince Rubeus! He's so dreamy!" exclaimed Princess Catsy excitedly. "Hey, Rubeus!" "Catsy! Be quiet! You're embarrassing us!" said Princess Avery. "I don't care! I want him to see me!" "Oh, look Prizma isn't that Sapphire standing over there?" "Why yes, Bertie I believe it is." "Maybe he'll ask you to dance with him." "Oh, I hope so..." Prizma liked the blue-haired prince very much. She would like nothing better than to dance with him. "Hello, we're guests for the ball. Would you kindly show us the way?" Zoisite's father asked a palace servant. "Of course, follow me..." "Wow...Mother I'm getting nervous," whispered Zoisite to her mother as they approached the tall doors of the ballroom. "Don't worry, honey. You look beautiful. Just follow us and do what I showed you, okay?" Zoisite stood back as her mother and father were announced together and walked arm in arm under the archway into the ballroom. Then it was her turn. "Her Royal Highness, the Princess Zoisite..." Zoisite slowly walked forward, trying to look as elegant and graceful as her mother did and hoping she was succeeding. She was. She did not go unnoticed by a certain prince who had claimed that princesses did not interest him. "Something the matter, my son?" asked Celica with amusement, noticing Malachite staring intently at the copper haired girl in the green dress as she walked up and made a lovely curtsy to the queen before joining her parents. "No, I'm fine..." "I would like to welcome all of you to my ball," announced Queen Serenity. "It's a great honor to have you all as guests of the Moon Kingdom. My daughter and I are very pleased that you have come and we hope you enjoy yourselves." The orchestra began to play and couples took places on the huge marble floor. Zoisite's mother and father began to dance with each other, leaving the princess standing by herself. "Wow," thought Zoisite, looking around the beautiful ballroom. "So pretty." She sighed. Her mother looked so pretty dancing with her father. They looked so in love. It wasn't long, however, before Zoisite got a chance. "Excuse me, may I have the honor?" asked a young warrior-prince, extending his hand to Zoisite. "Oh, with pleasure," replied the copper-haired princess, accepting his arm and hoping she would dance as gracefully as her mother would. The prince led her in a waltz to the music. Soon another prince came over and asked to cut in. The first prince reluctantly turned her over. Zoisite was flattered. "Maybe I'll find my love here tonight," she thought. Serena sighed as she swirled around the floor with her Darien. It was all so dreamy. As they spun about she caught glimpses of her friends around the ballroom. There was Princess Amy of Mercury in a lovely pale blue gown sparkling with tiny little stars dancing with the black-haired prince of Sirius. There was Princess Raye of Mars in a stunning red gown with rose accents, dancing with a prince from the Swan Nebula. Princess Lita of Jupiter and Princess Mina of Venus were having fun talking to a pair of twin princes from the Gemini stars. Both Lita and Mina looked beautiful, Lita in a green sleeveless gown with a sugar pink sash, and Mina in a golden dress with puffy sleeves. All four of these young ladies were members of Serena's court as well as princesses of their home planets. They also had the important jobs of being sailor scouts - sworn to protect Princess Serena and the Moon Kingdom. Little did they know that soon their help would be needed. Malachite watched Zoisite, observing the young girl as she danced with one prince and then another. She looked like an angel. He moved along the outer edge of the couples, following her dancing path. "Go on and ask her," said his mother who was quite amused at her son's fascination with the young girl. "I know you want to." "She seems to have a good deal of partners," he remarked. "Oh, come Malachite, I'm sure she'd love to dance with you. I see the way you keep looking at her. Go on. You'll never know if you don't try." Malachite nodded. Even if he tried to deny it, something was undoubtedly drawing him to the girl. He had never felt it before. Malachite carefully made his way into the dancers until he was inches away from the young princess. He stopped. Zoisite caught his eye and was stunned by his beauty, as he was with hers. Her current dancing partner noticed Zoisite turning to look at Malachite and by the look on her face realized his time with her was up. Although handsome and sophisticated, Prince Falcon was no match for the elegant, well-spoken, debonair Prince Malachite. Malachite extended his hand to Zoisite. "May I have the honor of your company, sweet princess?" he asked with a smile that would melt any female. "Of course," Zoisite managed to say and left Prince Falcon staring after her as Malachite led her away. She passed her mother who smiled happily at her, seeing her daughter with such a fine male. "I would like you to join me here," said Malachite stopping outside the ballroom on a beautiful balcony where they would be alone. It was decorated with dozens of multicolored roses and the sweet music could still be heard coming from the ballroom. Malachite wanted privacy. No one was going to steal away the little treasure he'd found. He wrapped one arm around her and the other one took hold of her hand. He began to lead a waltz with the princess, who was more than happy to follow him anywhere. "He's dreamy," thought Zoisite as she stole a glance into his pale blue eyes. "Just like a fairy tale prince." Dancing in those other prince's arms she hadn't felt like this. Her heart beat faster and she felt tingly from her head to toe. "What may I call you, little jewel?" asked Malachite, smiling. "Zoisite." "What a lovely name. Perfect for a lovely princess." Zoisite flushed happily from the compliment. "What about you?" she asked. "I am Malachite." He replied. Zoisite gasped softly. "Is your father Lord Malachon?" she wondered aloud. "You know of Lord Malachon?" he asked, pleased that this sweet angel knew of his father. "Oh, yes. I heard he was a very great sorcerer and that he had a son who is also powerful." "I am that son, my sweet." He smiled. "Oh wow, can you create storms and winds like he can?" she asked, excited to be in the presence of the great sorcerer's son. "Yes, princess. But I can also create soft things of beauty like yourself." He stopped their dance and held up his right hand. A greenish light began to emanate from his fingers. Zoisite stared in awe as the light took shape and became a beautiful pink rose that he presented to her. "Oh, thank you," she said as she admired it. "It's wonderful." "Perhaps you know magical spells as well?" he asked. "Yes, I do. I'm very interested in magic. My favorite magic is to make flower petals. Would you like to see them?" He nodded. Zoisite conjured up a flurry of pink petals that swirled around them prettily. "They are very lovely," he said. "Please keep making them for me." He resumed his waltzing with her and the flower petals twirled around the couple as they danced around the balcony, making a beautiful picture in the twilight. Malachite's mother peeked out through the sheer filmy curtains to see her son obviously enjoying himself with the copper haired princess. She smiled, pleased and rejoined her husband. "And what have you been doing?" asked Malachon with a sly smile. "Just noticing that our son seems to have finally found a princess to his liking," she replied. "Has he really?" asked the great sorcerer. "I believe so. He seems to be captivated by a Princess Zoisite." "Well let's hope things work out and maybe we'll have her in our family soon," said Malachon. **************************** From her crystal in her dark dwelling, Beryl observed the goings-on at the ball with disgust. "I have analyzed the guests at the ball," said the Negaforce, "and I have found four who will suit you well in your quest to conquer the Moon Kingdom and capture Prince Darien." "Oh?" said Beryl. "And who might they be?" "First, a young warrior named Jedite." An image of a young blonde prince with blue-green eyes appeared in her crystal. "He has very strong telekinetic powers and a knowledge of many planets and energy sources." "Second, this man called Neflite." Another prince, this one with long wavy brown hair and blue eyes appeared in the crystal. "His powers are connected with those of the stars. He has a great understanding of the their power and how to use it." "Third, Malachite, son of the great sorcerer Malachon." The white haired young sorcerer filled the crystal with his presence. "He is the strongest warrior, dedicating his life to the study of magic." "And finally this young girl named Zoisite." A delicate looking princess appeared. "A girl?" questioned Beryl. "Why do you show me a girl?" "Because although she looks weak and delicate, she possesses special talents that she is not fully aware of yet. She can be very powerful given time and proper training, perhaps by this Malachite who seems to have taken an interest in her." "Hmmph! The last thing I need is a pair of lovers." "Trust me, my Queen. You will bring them here and make them yours. You need powerful leaders for your army." "Very well, I shall trust in your guidance. You have brought me this far," said Beryl. "We must attack and capture them during the ball. No one will be expecting us. It will be a complete surprise." "A very pleasant surprise," thought Beryl as she prepared to pay the Moon Kingdom a visit. ************************ "Lovely ball Your Majesty," said Artemis from his position on the floor next to Queen Serenity. "Serena certainly seems to be enjoying herself," remarked Luna. "Yes," replied Queen Serenity to the cat, happy to see Serena having so much fun. Then she turned thoughtful. "But someone didn't show up...remember that Princess Beryl?" "Yes, she seemed to have quite a thing for Darien, if I remember correctly," said Luna. "She hasn't come and neither has the Queen Berina. And I haven't received any word from either of them. A little odd, don't you think?" Little did they know it but Beryl would be making an entrance very soon... **************************** Princess Zoisite sighed inwardly as she looked up at Prince Malachite. He was so elegant, so articulate, not to mention so dreamy. She couldn't imagine a finer example of male attractiveness. Her insides fluttered crazily from each look into that handsome face. As desirable as he was to her, she felt just a little shy in his presence. But that certainly was understandable. After all, he was a wonderful dream come true... "What an angel," thought Malachite, looking down at Zoisite with a soft smile. The pink rose he had given her was now tucked snugly into her sash. He had been so happy when she had first noticed him and come to him. The look she had on her face was priceless - it was so sweet to behold - as if she had just seen the most wonderful sight - like a little girl who sees a beautiful doll or a plate full of desserts. She was fairylike in her grace and movements. Her soft pink flower petals were the perfect compliment to her loveliness. If he had to choose a female to be his, it would be this one for sure. An elegant lady with long silky dark green hair, so long it reached past her knees, stepped over to the balcony to get some air. Peering through the sheer blue filmy curtains hanging over the archway Trista noticed the young couple there. She guessed their intentions and decided to return to the ballroom so that she wouldn't disturb them. The Princess of Pluto had the distinctive job of guardian of time which made her a rather solitary figure, although she had friends in the sailor scouts. She noted the other guardians around the room, the princesses of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn, each girl with her own unique personality and style. She was very glad to be a part of them. "I believe they are serving refreshments inside. Would you care for some, Zoisite?" Malachite asked. "Yes, please. I am a little hungry." "Wait here, my sweet. I will return with a platter for you." He lifted her pale delicate hand and kissed it tenderly before going inside to see about some food for the both of them. ******************** "Oh, it all looks so wonderful! I just don't know what to eat first!" exclaimed Princess Serena as she dreamily eyed the huge buffet of delicious food, spread out over a long table covered with a pink gauzy cloth. "I know," she said and filled her plate up with little cakes and candies. "Sweets for dinner?" asked Prince Darien, noticing the princess's pink crystal plate filled to the edge with pink, blue, yellow, green, peach and lavender pastel frosted cakes and cookies. "Well, why not they're absolutely my favorite things to eat," replied Serena. "Sure, why not," echoed Princess Mina, "I don't want anything but sugar tonight. Like they say, sweets for a sweet night!" "Mina I think that's 'sweets for the sweet'," said Princess Amy. "Well, I'm not going to eat just sweets, I'm want some real food too!" said Princess Lita. "I'm with Lita, let's get some sandwiches," offered Amy. Princesses Amy, Raye and Lita went to get some healthier food leaving Princess Serena and Mina at the sweets section. "I'm going to go with them if you don't mind," said Prince Darien. "But I'll come right back." "Okay," said Serena as she took a big bite of a pink cupcake with little candy hearts. "Now what can I get for Zoisite?" wondered Malachite as he surveyed the long table of food. "Having fun dear?" asked his mother who was sampling some dishes. "Yes, I believe I am," said Malachite with a smile for her as he picked up some of the same foods she had on her plate for Zoisite - cute little sandwiches, rolls and appetizers. "Good, I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself," she said giving his arm a little squeeze before going off to join his father. Malachite finished choosing dinner foods and looked for some sweet treats for his little sweetheart. He chose some pale blue frosted heart-shaped vanilla cookies with little pink sugar roses on top. Then he filled two tall stemmed crystal glasses with cherry punch. Carrying multiple dishes was no problem since he could just levitate them slightly in front of him. Satisfied with the two plates, Malachite returned to Zoisite, who was sitting on one of the marble benches along the curved rail of the balcony. She was dreamily over- looking the palace grounds. Hearing him approach, she turned around. He joined her and set the dishes down for her. "Oh, they look delicious!" said Zoisite admiring the prettily arranged foods he had chosen for her. "Thank you." The food was very tasty. Zoisite loved the little rice rolls especially. But the pretty sugar cookies for dessert were the best of all. She had never tasted anything so sweet. When they were finished eating, Malachite removed the dishes and suggested they sit awhile to digest. He gently put his arm around her and drew her close to him. "Tell me more about yourself," he requested, wishing to know more about this little beauty. Zoisite began to tell him about her home in the kingdom of Zoisica and her family, a little shyly at first, but soon she forgot her shyness because Malachite was so interested in her. She told him how much she loved to be outside in the gardens, especially the cherry orchard. "There is a beautiful flower garden down there," said Malachite. "Shall we go see it together?" "Can we?" asked Zoisite. "Of course, why not?" he replied, helping her to her feet. Zoisite gasped a little as he lifted them both up over the rail with his powers and floated them down gently to the ground below the balcony. "Come my dear," he said, placing his strong arm around her waist and escorting her through the pretty maze of flowers, illuminated by softly glowing crystal torches. Zoisite sighed with contentment as they walked together. She wished the night would never end... All of the sudden, so quickly it could only be magic, the sky filled with flashes of red fire and a dark black cloud. The palace guests were filled with terror as a dark monster-like being appeared in the great ballroom, just underneath the high ceiling. A woman with long red hair was floating above as well, with claws on her hands and spikes protruding from her shoulders where previously there had been none. Gasps and startled screams could be heard as men drew their women to them. "Oh, Darien, I'm frightened!" cried Princess Serena. "Don't worry Serena, I'll protect you," said Darien as he stepped in front of her and drew his sword. "What is it, Malachon?" asked Celica as she huddled close to him under his cape. "I don't know, I've never seen anything quite like it before..." "That woman looks familiar!" said Luna. "That's Beryl!" exclaimed Queen Serenity, shocked by the sudden appearance of the menacing looking woman. "I don't remember her having claws," said Artemis. "Or spikes on her shoulders for that matter." "That's because she didn't!" said Luna. "Something has happened to her!" "Luna's right," said Serenity. "I feel it's something evil! I think we need the sailor scouts!" "What's going on over there?" cried Zoisite as she turned around and noticed the dark nega-clouds surrounding the palace, which she and Malachite had wandered quite a distance from. "I don't know," replied Malachite, having a feeling that whatever it was, it was not good. But he was a strong warrior with great power, and he believed he could deal with it. "I'm going to find out. Stay right here and don't move, Zoisite." "No, Malachite, don't leave me alone!" she cried. "Zoisite, please, I don't want you getting hurt." He placed a gentle hand under her chin. "You're the best thing that's happened to me. All my life I have striven to be like my father, a master sorcerer. I have mastered many spells but no matter how good I was I still lacked one thing. That one thing is you my sweet and now that I found you I don't want to lose you." With that he leaned down and tenderly kissed her for a sweet moment. "Don't you worry, I will return." Zoisite watched him go, thrilled by his kiss and those words but worried about those dark clouds... Inside the palace, the sailor scouts were ordered to transform by Queen Serenity. "Don't even bother," said Beryl. "I'll just take what I want and go!" She released a strong dark burst of energy, knocking all the sailor girls to the floor and allowing her to pick up some warriors for herself. With the help of the Negaforce, she singled out Jedite and Neflite from the assemblage and drew them into her darkness before they even knew what was happening. "What can we do?" asked Sailor Venus, who was feeling badly bruised. "I don't know, whatever it is it's way too strong," said Sailor Jupiter, referring to the great dark Negaforce. Prince Darien slashed at it with his sword but his efforts did no good. "Foolish prince," said Beryl. "Why don't you join with me? I will rule the universe!" "You're crazy!" said Darien. Queen Serenity was about to intervene when Malachon stepped forward and attacked the darkness with a blast of his power. Bright blue light streamed from his fingers, trying to penetrate the thick darkness. Levitating himself higher he almost succeeded in fighting it off, but Beryl hit him with a deadly blast that broke his blue light energy beams and sent him falling to the floor. "Ha! Some great powerful sorcerer you are! So much for the great master Malachon!" Malachite rushed inside to see his father lying motionless on the floor. "No!" he cried and rushed over to him. "Your father is no match for the great power of the Negaforce," said Beryl, recognizing the young prince as Malachon's son, "and neither are you." Malachite was so angry he blasted at her with all he had. But Queen Beryl had the powerful aid of the Negaforce which surrounded the sorcerer-prince in darkness so that he couldn't see. He was trapped inside the darkness and blacked out as it overwhelmed him. "I cannot find the girl," said the Negaforce. "She is no longer here. But we shall find her later. These three will do for now." "So long!" said Beryl. "We will return!" And before anyone could object, she and the Negaforce disappeared through a dark hole to the place they had come from.
